Five Icelandic Artists go to Canada

The Idea of North in Halifax

Five Icelandic artists will be taking part in an exhibition project in Halifax, Canada, entitled The Idea Of North. The project was a collaboration set up with KlinK & BanK and the first part of the project was carried out in Reykjavik in June of last year. [read more]

Support Program I 2006

CIA.IS – Center for Icelandic Art has opened the first round of its support program 2006 and asks Icelandic artists who live on the island or abroad for applications. 7 artists or artist groups will be granted for travels, residencies, projects, production or publication. Sari Maarit Cedergren - Sari Maarit Cedergren The Finnish born sculptor Sari M. Cedergren has been working with plaster and concrete to display different aspects of Icelandic weather in the recent years. The viewpoint of Sari’s artwork on weather has evolved from the macroscopic horizon towards the microscopic, the smallest entities of the weather. Sari uses the energy of the weather to propel movement in her artwork, movement in which the weather is reflected trough various mediums.
